In the smart residential neighbourhood where Hermann Hesse lived, 2 km from down town Lugano, the Villa Principe Leopoldo, with the Residence Principe Leopoldo across the street, has moulded into an upmarket resort, amongst Lugano's finest accomodation. The Principe Leopoldo Restaurant, is a very refined environment with tapestry walls, very confortable chairs, lovely linens, marble floors and unobstrusive lighting. Any establishment named "Hotel of the Year" by GaultMillau must also have a "sparkling" cusine.
The "diamond" of the Villa Principe Leopoldo is Dario Ranza, who has been managing the kitchens for 12 years now.
His philosophy is striking: you can rarely avoid classic French cuisine in a 5 ***** hotel, but for him, a demanding guest wants to be treated like a King by getting what he really likes and so he tries to fulfill such whishes.
The "Queen of the Ceresio" rest around a magnificient bay, guarded by Monte Brč on the East bank and Monte San Salvatore on the West bank. Facing South, Lugano is much appreciated lakeside resort, highly valued during the in-between seasons (Spring and Autumn).

How to reach the Hotel: Leaving the highway, enter "Lugano Sud" and take direction "Lago". Stay on the left hand-side in reaching the first traffic light, turn left again, follow the direction "Ponte Tresa" and the signaling "Villa Principe Leopoldo".
